Defrancq leads the way with Wero invoice payments via POM
Defrancq is the first company in Belgium to enable customers to pay invoices via Wero, the new European payment solution and successor to Payconiq. To make this possible, Defrancq is partnering with POM. A key advantage of Wero compared to other payment methods is its ability to support higher payment amounts.

Until recently, the use of Wero in Belgium was limited to person-to-person payments. Thanks to recent developments, Wero is now also available for business payments.
Over the past months, we have thoroughly prepared POM for the rollout of Wero,” says Tom Totté, co-founder of POM. “By putting all technical and operational elements in place upfront, we were able to bring the first merchant live as soon as the first banks were ready.”
At present, Wero payments for businesses are available to customers of ING and KBC. Other Belgian banks are expected to follow later this year.
“At Defrancq we embrace Wero as a logical next step in digital payments,” says Jérome Bridelance, operations director at Defrancq. "Especially for higher invoice amounts, Wero delivers clear added value thanks to its higher payment limits and a smooth, secure payment experience. Being able to offer this today via POM fits perfectly with our vision on innovation and customer focus.”
“Wero is designed to make European payments simpler, stronger and more independent. Its expansion beyond person-to-person payments into business and invoice transactions represents a key step in scaling a trusted European payment solution that delivers tangible value to merchants and consumers across Europe,” says Martina Weimert, CEO of EPI (the company behind Wero).
With this first live deployment, POM once again confirms its leading role in the payments sector, taking an important step together with Defrancq towards the future of digital and European payments.
